I've used PMView on OS/2 for years. I just downloaded the Win version and took a quick look at the documentation. What I want to do is create slide shows and distribute them to friends and relatives on CD-ROM. Is there a way to do this so that the shows are viewable if the recipient doesn't have PMView?

Unfortunately, this is not possible in the current version.
Recently we have got a considerable number of requests for the feature you're requesting. It will most likely be included in the next major version of PMView.

Thank you for your reply, Peter. Now my next obvious question is: WHEN do you expect the next major release to take place. I understand we're talking about a MAJOR release so you probably can't even see the date on the horizon yet, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Alternatively, do you know of another software package currently available that will let me create CD slide shows for distribution?

The next thing to be released is the LINUX version of PMView. As soon as this version is out, I will start working on adding new features to PMView.
