PMView Pro Forums _ PMView - OS/2 Technical Support _ Slight 3.23 Installation Issue - Timestamps

Posted by: Teijo Jan 16 2006, 11:04 PM

When installing PMView version 3.23 over a previous version, WarpIn warns that several of the files to be installed are older than the existing ones. The file sizes are identical, but the time stamps of the files in v3.23 are exactly one hour older than the "old" ones.

I'm sorry I didn't note the version I was installing on top of - I didn't at first think this was worth reporting, but come to think of it, while a small nuisence it should probably be tidied up.

Ah, that's because my OS/2 machine is one hour off...

Is there an easy way to keep the OS/2 clock synchronized with a time server?

Thanks,

I have a script which I change manually when daylight-savingtime
begings and ends. It queries a second server if the first one fails.
daytime-packagage should be available on HOBBES.

rem winter
SET TZ=CET-1
rem summer:
rem SET TZ=CET-2
daytime.exe ptbtime1.ptb.de || daytime.exe ptbtime2.ptb.de

I use TIME686 (http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/apps/internet/time/time868f.zip).
It's a nice PM RFC868 client and server (if you want it to be smile.gif ).

Very reliable. I have not have any issues since years.
