I think it would be very useful! Have you ever used the Crop tool of Adobe Photoshop?

I mean "and height to 100" in the "Now my idea is"-sentence of course!

In Adobe Photoshop there is a tool called "Crop-Tool" and it is perfect for making thumbnails of Pictures.
For example: have an 1600x1200 Photo from my digital Camera and I want a 150x100 Thumbnail of it.
I don't know an easy way in PMview to reach this goal (of course without changing the proportions of the image)
With the Photoshop I can set the Crop-Tool to 150x100, then select an area of the picture (the proportions of the selection are of course fixed, unless I want them to be free) and when I press ENTER I have a perfect 150x100 Thumbnail (with the correct proportions).

It would be great if PMview had an similar tool.

My idea to achieve this is using the standard selection-tool of PMview.
In the "selection info"-window there could be a new check-box called "Resize output". When you check it, there are 2 new input-fields (width and height) an a new check-box "keep proportional".
Now my idea is, that when I select an area of the picture and check "Resize output" and set width to 150 and height to 150, nothing special happens; but when I press Crop (or Copy, or Cut) the output (with Copy and Cut of course not the direct output, but the data in clipboard) has now the size 150x100!
And when I check "Keep proportions" too, I could only select an area with the proportion 3:2 (so that the output doesn't look ugly without the correct proportions!).

Is my idea clear to you?
Would that be possible?

Yes you are right. My camera makes 2048x1536 px pictures.
So its no problem.

So there is no possibility to rotate a JPG-image really lossless?

When I rotate a JPG image with the lossless JPG-Rotating, the image size changes.

For example: When I use my lossless 90° Clockwise Rotating to rotate a 800x600 JPG image , I get a 592x800 JPG image.

Is this behavior expected? I don't think so, because it simply cuts one side of my image off.

I'm using WindowsXP Professionel (SP1).
Tested it on WindowsXP Home and it results in the same bug.

Blinking is not possible?
But your (great) program can change one color in this dialog, it could change it for a second into the negative color, and back again. Would that not be possible?

Another idea is, that if you click one of the 256 colors in the "Edit Palette"-Window, the part of my image that has this color blinks for a second or something.
Because it's somtimes really difficult to find the color I want to change in the 256 colors.

Another thing that others already suggested: Add a box with the hexadezimal code for the current color!

It would be great if you could choose the color you want ro change in the "Edit Palette"-Window.
If you click on the color you want to change, it would be selected in the "Edit Palette"-Window.
You could also add this feature to the "Save"-Dialog to the Transperancy Selection in the Option dialog of an gif image for example.
