I have a couple folders of pictures that are now not being recognized by PMView or any other picture viewer. It keeps telling me that it can't recognize the file. Is there anything I can do to have PMView recognize the files. They are all jpg files.

PMView has built-in file recovery, so they are probably damaged beyond recognition or possibly not standard JPEG File Interchange Format files. Please contact me at peter@pmview.com and I will be happy to have a look at the file to see if I can identify the format.
