PMV for OS/2 v3.51 build 24318
Open FOC, choose a dir that contains filenames with capitalized extensions, eg IMG_0013_b.JPG IMG_0014_b.JPG Use external utility to change case of filename extensions: IMG_0013_b.jpg IMG_0014_b.jpg In FOC, use <F5> (or RMB->Refresh). PMV will not update filenames for thumbnails. Very much worse, if you then load a file, the main window inherits the filename with the wrong case extension, with the possibility of saving it wrong as well. This makes this issue a bug and non-cosmetic. -------------------- |

This makes this issue a bug and non-cosmetic. Al, It seems you forgot that OS/2 files have TWO file names. One is the physical filename, and the other is the file name stored in the OS/2 .LONGNAME extended attribute. Renaming a file from a non-WPS aware program, or from a command prompt may cause confusion if it only changes one of the two file names. (PMView always updates both, and by default it uses .LONGNAME as does WPS, unless you have unchecked it in the FOC). Either set PMView to display PHYSICAL file names (uncheck Long Names in the FOC), or make sure that the tools you use update the .LONGNAME EAs. The primary (re)naming tool I use is Kim Henkel's ZTBold. The chances of getting Kim to update ZTB is not good. I will try disabling Long Names in FOC. Again, Thanks. -------------------- |
