Hello:

I created a new image:
File->New->Image,
7200w x 6000h

Then I use to paste a image from the clipboard, and PMView closes. I started PMView with /log=pmview.log. Here are the results:

Hmmm... Out of memory...

7200x6000x24/8 = 129 MB...

Working with this image will require 256 MB RAM or virtual memory. Note, however, that this memory usually is available in form of SWAP space, so you don't need to have that amount of RAM.

What is the size of the image you tried to paste and what application had put it on the clipboard?

According to the log, your system is is WSeB (Warp 4.5). Does this also occur on Warp 4/FP13 ?

FWIW, this could be a display driver issue, since the clipboard operation heavily depends on the display driver.

I just tested it here. I put a 768x512 image on the clipboard. Then I selected File->New->Image, 7200x6000. Then I pasted in the image from the clipboard. No problem!
Warp4/FP12, 128MB RAM, Matrox G200
