Is there any possibility of support for the JPEG2000 format? This is being used by US Library of Congress for some image data. I had to load Irfanview to use these, but would prefer to do everything in PMViewPro.

It's definitely planned. The problem is that the free or reasonably priced
libraries are still very buggy and/or incomplete (e.g. Jasper2000). They
would probably work fine for saving and loading your own JPEG2000 files,
but when fed with files from various sources they show problems, not able
to read some files etc.

IMHO, the Irfanview quality is unacceptable for a program like PMView. If it claims to read JPEG2000, then it should really do so and not just read a few select sub formats of JPEG2000...

I've been planning to use the Kakadu library, but it is so expensive that
it takes more than a whole years (!) sales of PMView to cover the license fee. I'm
not sure it is worth that much...

Anyway, a future version will definitely have JPEG2000 support.

Thanks,
Peter

It is now over 18 months since your last comments about JP2.
Any new developments to tell us about?
I should like to be able to use JP2 lossless for a project.

PMView v4.0 will read JPEG2000 files.

...and 9 months later...

Is there a projected release date for PMView 4.0?

Not at this time. v3.52 will be released soon.

Why not setup a PayPal donations link where interested users can donate money to such (and possibly other) features. Maybe something similar to the Bounty System at OS/2 World
