PMView Pro Forums > PMView Pro Discussion > PMView - OS/2 Technical Support

When i issue a comand:

PMView.exe /PRINT=NODIALOG tree1.gif

I can't get anything on printer device. i.e. pmview.exe starts (i see him in process list), do something, and then exit. BUT _nothing_ goes to printer.

The following command works OK,
PMView.exe /PRINT tree1.gif

give printing dialog and after "Print" - all is printes as asked.

This sounds like an oddity with your printer driver. (The printer driver requires a user interface to be active). What printer driver are you using and what version of OS/2 ?

Thanks,
zakiso
Sorry, was unable to remember my userid yesterday...

so, i have two PC with OS/2:

1) OS/2 V.3.0 Fix42+
2) Aurora CP2

On both i try 3 printer drivers:

1) Standart IBMPCL driver (a bit different versions, but both ~new) on b/w laser printer.

2) EPOMNI5 driver for EPSON stylus C60.

3) IBMNULL (just for test).

in all six cases /PRINTER make print job in appropriate queue, but /PRINTER=NOD do nothing.

two hypothesis: (i have little exp. in programming under os/2, but have some 8) )

1) Printer Presentation Space killed, before printing finished (both my computers are slow, 800 and 400 Mhz).

2) You use "other" mechanizm to "detect printer queue" in =NODIALOG case...
Peter
The exact same code is used for both cases. It works fine here on my 75MHz laptop with Warp 4 so I doubt it is related to a slow computer.

I remember that Warp 3.0 may had some strange problems with the Printer UI, so do your testing on Aurora CP2.
zakiso
I tes /PRINT=NODIALOG on both PC-s, result is absolutely same, as on OS/2 Warp, as on Aurora CP2... Okay, will try to install one more PC and test then...
Peter
I just installed IBMNULL, and you're right. It does not work! Ok, this will be fixed in 3.11

Obviously not a Popular option in OS/2 since the beta testers had the feature for about 6 months and did not report a problem.

Thanks,
Peter
Found the problem. We'll try to get out 3.11 A.S.A.P.

Thanks,
