It seems not to be possible to drag a selection of an image out of the PMVIEW window onto an folder with the effect of creating an image consisting of just the selected part at the target location. As this is possible with the Image Browser of OS/2 (ib.exe) I'm missing this in PMVIEW. Thanks for your attention.

Yes, this behavior is not implemented.

What should it do? If you ask people, they will have very divided opinions about it.

Most will say that it should copy (or move) the ORIGNAL FILE ON DISK.

Some will say that it should SAVE the current file where you drag...

As you can see, it is far from clear what it should do...

Thanks,

Sorry, Peter, but both of your suggestion miss the point I'm talking about. Please, could you try out with IB.EXE making a rectangle selection of an image using the left mouse button and then with the right mouse button pressed drag this rectangle out of the IB window. When dropped into a folder a new image out of the selected part of that shown in IB will be created. That means a copy of the selection only.
Thanks.

Do Edit->Crop, then File->Save As.
