[/B]I am running PMView 2000, v2.32, build 17833 under Warp 4.0 build 14.062: PView's hardware screen shows Warp 4.5. My screen resolution is 1064x768, 65565 colors.

PMView created thumbnails automatically for 1064x768 deep color digital camera photos. Roughly 137,000 bytes per jpg.

It did not create thumbnails for other digital camera pictures of resolution 640x480 deep color. With a few exceptions these picures are represented by a jpg file of approximatelu 37,000 bytes and a hidden 411 file of about 4,600 bytes.

How do I enable PMView to make thumbnails of the 640x480 shots/ Switch my display to 640x480? If that does the trick, will the resulting thumbnails be visible if I switch the screen reasolution back to 1064x768?

Why do practically all of my 640x480 pictures have two files but a few have only a jpg file?

Thanks in advance for any hep you can give me.

Please read the "Important information about thumbnails" section in the on-line help.

Obviously you are running in the default "Icon Thumbnails" mode that require you to manually generate thumbnails. By default thumbnails are generated when you convert files, so that's why some of your files have the thumbnails.

Solution #1: Right click on the files and select Create->Thumbnail
Solution #2: Right click on the FOC background and set Thumbnail Mode->Mixed
